You will also be able to see if your abstract has been selected for an oral presentation in the different thematic sessions.

Please note that if your name does not appear in the list of speakers, you can of course bring a poster, in A0 format, which will be displayed in a room dedicated to this purpose and therefore permanently visible to all conference participants. You are of course responsible for its layout, printing and transport to Kisangani. However, this remark does not concern those who have received financial support from us. For those people the posters will be printed in Kisangani. The costs will be covered by the conference. For the latter, please send your poster as a Power Point as well as PDF to congobiodiv23orgcom@naturalsciences.be before February 15. 

Please make sure that you take into account the above-mentioned format and that the resolution of all images is large enough to display them legibly on this large format.

Traveling to Kisangani

There are no international flights to Kisangani. It is also impossible to book domestic flights via travel agencies from outside the country or online in a reliable way. These are the reasons why we have tried, and unfortunately not succeeded, to secure a flight from a major African hub to and from Kisangani for all participants at once. This scenario would also have avoided for people having to stay over in Kinshasa on their way to and from Kisangani. Hence the organizers propose to go about it as follows:

For international participants

Except the keynote speakers and those who have been notified that the organization will take care of their travel costs, we strongly advise everyone to book his/her international flights with an arrival in Kinshasa on SATURDAY MARCH 4 at the latest, and a departure from Kinshasa on MONDAY MARCH 13 at the earliest.  

For all participants passing through Kinshasa, - this applies also for Congolese participants -

• We kindly request that you do not try to book your domestic flights to Kisangani yourselves
• For practical and safety reasons, you will be met at the Ndjili airport at your arrivals as well as accompanied to the airport for your departures. Please provide a copy of your flight reservations as soon as possible via congobiodiv23orgcom@naturalsciences.be
• Transport to and from the pre-reserved accommodation in Kinshasa will be organized. Details on the transport and the (types of) accommodation will follow soon.
• Tickets for the domestic flights to and from Kisangani on March 5 and March 12 will be reserved by the organization. The reimbursement (~400 USD) of these costs will be organized later on and is not applicable for the keynote speakers and for those persons for which the organization pays the travel costs. Details will follow as soon as possible.
• It is strongly recommended that participants do not pass via Goma, in the Eastern part of the DRC.
• If you, and this should be the exception, do not want to make use of the above-mentioned combination (reception at the airport in Kinshasa, transport and accommodation in Kinshasa and flights to/from Kisangani), please notify the organizers without delay via congobiodiv23orgcom@naturalsciences.be

For participants from the East of Congo (North and South-Kivu)

• We recommend to book the CAA flight on Saturday March 4 and on Saturday March 11.  Please provide a copy of your flight reservations as soon as possible via congobiodiv23orgcom@naturalsciences.be

For all participants

If you still would prefer to arrange for your own domestic flights and passage through Kinshasa, the organization cannot be held responsible for any problem (e.g. flight cancellations, delays,…) you might have during your transit at Kinshasa or with the flights to/from Kisangani.

Accommodation in Kisangani

Hotel accommodation in Kisangani cannot be booked on line. The organizers will reserve a sufficient large number of rooms in different price categories to accommodate all registered participants. Details will follow in the coming weeks.

Vous pourrez également, grâce à cela, voir si votre résumé a été sélectionné pour une présentation orale lors des différentes sessions thématiques proposées.

À noter que si votre nom n’apparaît pas dans la liste des orateurs, vous avez bien évidemment la possibilité d’apporter un poster, en format A0 (80x120cm : largeur/hauteur), qui sera affiché dans une salle dédiée à cet effet et donc visible en permanence à l’ensemble des participants de la conférence. Vous êtes bien évidemment responsable de sa mise en page, de son impression et de son transport jusqu’à Kisangani. Ceci, à l’exception des personnes ayant reçu un soutien financier de notre part, pour qui les impressions seront réalisées à Kisangani, avec une prise en charge des frais associés par la conférence. Dans le cas échéant, envoyez svp votre poster sous forme Power Point ainsi que sous forme PDF par mail avant le 15 février à congobiodiv23orgcom@naturalsciences. 

Faites bien attention à tenir compte du format mentionné ci-dessus et que la résolution de toutes les images soit suffisamment bonne pour être affiché lisiblement sur ce grand format.

Voyager à Kisangani

Il n'y a pas de vols internationaux à destination de Kisangani. Il est également impossible de réserver de manière fiable des vols intérieurs via des agences de voyage depuis l'extérieur du pays ou en ligne. C'est pourquoi nous avons essayé, sans y parvenir malheureusement, d'assurer un vol depuis un grand centre africain vers et depuis Kisangani pour tous les participants en même temps. Ce scénario aurait également permis d'éviter que les personnes ne soient obligées de séjourner à Kinshasa sur leur chemin vers et depuis Kisangani. Les organisateurs proposent donc de procéder de la manière suivante :

Pour les participants internationaux 

A l'exception des orateurs principaux et de ceux qui ont été informés que l'organisation prendra en charge leurs frais de voyage, nous conseillons vivement à chacun de réserver ses vols internationaux avec une arrivée à Kinshasa le SAMEDI 4 MARS au plus tard, et un départ de Kinshasa le LUNDI 13 MARS au plus tôt.  

Pour tous les participants passant par Kinshasa, - ceci vaut également pour les participants congolais -

• Nous vous demandons de ne pas essayer de réserver vous-mêmes vos vols intérieurs pour Kisangani. 
• Pour des raisons pratiques et de sécurité, vous serez accueillis à l'aéroport de Ndjili à vos arrivées ainsi qu'accompagnés à l'aéroport pour vos départs. Veuillez fournir une copie de vos réservations de vol dès que possible via congobiodiv23orgcom@naturalsciences.be.
• Le transport vers et depuis les logements pré-réservés à Kinshasa sera organisé. Les détails sur le transport et les (types de) logements suivront prochainement.
• Les billets pour les vols intérieurs à destination et en provenance de Kisangani les 5 et 12 mars seront réservés par l'organisation. Le remboursement (~400 USD) de ces frais sera organisé ultérieurement et ne s'applique pas aux orateurs principaux et aux personnes pour lesquelles l'organisation paie les frais de voyage. Les détails suivront dès que possible. 
• Il est fortement recommandé aux participants de ne pas passer par Goma, dans la partie orientale de la RDC.
• Si vous, et cela devrait être l'exception, ne souhaitez pas faire usage de la combinaison mentionnée ci-dessus (accueil à l'aéroport de Kinshasa, transport et hébergement à Kinshasa et vols de/vers Kisangani), veuillez en informer les organisateurs sans délai via congobiodiv23orgcom@naturalsciences.be.

Pour les participants de l'Est du Congo (Nord et Sud-Kivu)

Nous vous recommandons de réserver le vol CAA du samedi 4 mars et du samedi 11 mars. Veuillez fournir une copie de vos réservations de vol dès que possible via congobiodiv23orgcom@naturalsciences.be.

Pour tous les participants

Si vous préférez tout de même organiser vos propres vols intérieurs et votre passage à Kinshasa, l'organisation ne peut être tenue responsable de tout problème (par exemple, annulations de vols, retards,...) que vous pourriez rencontrer pendant votre transit à Kinshasa ou avec les vols de/vers Kisangani.

L'hébergement à Kisangani ne peut pas être réservé en ligne. Les organisateurs réserveront un nombre suffisant de chambres dans différentes catégories de prix pour accueillir tous les participants inscrits. Les détails suivront dans les semaines à venir.
